Welcome to the website for The Bluecoat School. I hope that as you look round our site you get a real feel for the creative curriculum that drives everything we believe in at this school. Our children are at the very heart of everything we do and their individual successes, personal well-being and achievements are our top priority! We pride ourselves on our caring, supportive, friendly and happy school environment. Our successful ethos is based on mutual respect for each other, excellent behaviour, positive attitudes to learning and a school where everyone is valued. The creative curriculum is the driving force for our children’s learning. The whole school community has been involved in shaping the curriculum and our vision of ‘bringing learning to life’ is embedded in all that we do. Our curriculum is shaped by taking into account the views of the children about what they want to learn and how they want to learn it. Learning new things, meeting new people, visiting new places and experiencing new things, are the foundations that underpin the curriculum. We believe that involving children in this way and seeking and responding to their views, motivates them to achieve highly in all areas of their learning. We are an open and welcoming school and value highly the strong partnership we have with our parent community. If you would like to visit our school, please contact us to arrange a meeting. We would love to see you and we will be very proud to take you on a tour of our school. Please take a look round the site then check out our Facebook page and Twitter account which we update regularly with the many adventures of The Bluecoat School.

An amazing school – its Creative Curriculum and outstanding teachers have inspired both of my children to thoroughly love learning and thrive. Very forwarding thinking, which is so refreshing to see.
