I am delighted to advise you that our Y5 class will be enjoying a day out at Wicksteed Park near Kettering on Wednesday 12th June 2019. The visit is being fully funded by ’Kids Out’ which is an independent national charity organisation which works in partnership with Rotary to provide days out for school aged children. I am very proud that our Y5 class have been invited to go on this visit in recognition of their efforts to support the Stamford Burghley Rotary club with their ‘Eradicate Polio Campaign’ earlier in the year.
We aim to leave school at approximately 8.30am on Wednesday so your child will need to arrive in school by 8.15am at the main entrance. We will be travelling by coach and arriving at Wicksteed Park by 9.30am. We will depart the park at 2.30pm and should return to school by 3.30pm.
We will be having picnic lunch during the day so your child will need to bring a packed lunch on the day (not fizzy please). If your child is entitled to a school lunch we will provide this for them. Additional water and snacks will be provided as required throughout the visit.
Your child should wear school uniform and sensible shoes for this visit and bring a light rainproof coat with them. Each child will receive a free sun cap to wear on the day which they will keep after the visit.
The overall costs of this trip are being fully funded by the charity and there are no parental contributions on this occasion.
