As you will no doubt be aware the information around C-19 updates so quickly it is almost impossible to keep up with what the latest advice is.
Despite the Prime Ministers update yesterday evening giving a wide range of new measures – schools are currently open and will remain so until directed to close.
Following the update last night the school has made the following additional responses:
• All non-essential travel away from school has stopped. This means teachers and staff will not attend courses off site and school trips have been postponed or cancelled
• All non-essential visits to the school are cancelled, meaning that meetings due to take place in school will be rearranged or made over the telephone if possible
• Evening use of school facilities have been temporarily stopped
The reality of the situation is that at some unknown time in the future, all of or a part of the school may need to be closed. This could be because of staff shortages, through self- isolation, or because of a national close down of schools
It is essential that during any non-holiday school closure we are able to communicate effectively with parents, to be able to keep you informed of any changes and to answer questions you have.
Could I please ask therefore, that you ensure we have up to date contact information in order to make communication as easy as possible with school.
This should include a mobile number(s) so that we can use the mass texting facility for ease of communication and to call you if necessary and an email address in case we need to send you any necessary information.

The Government continues to recommend that schools stay open unless they have been directly advised to close by the Public Health England Health Protection Team. At the time of writing there are no confirmed cases of Covid-19 at the School.
Several key changes, however, have been announced by the Government in the last 24-hours:
If you live alone and you have symptoms of coronavirus illness (COVID-19), however mild, stay at home for 7 days from when your symptoms started. Common symptoms are a new continuous cough and/or high temperature.
If you live with others and you or one of them have symptoms of coronavirus, then all household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill.
The symptoms are:

The School will continue to closely monitor the situation and official advice, and we continue to encourage all members of the School community to follow the hygiene advice widely publicised.
